The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) is concerned with raising the standards of professional photography in Australia. Each year the AIPP holds the industry’s print awards – called the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA). During a four-day period, usually in May, nearly 2500 photographic prints, in varying categories, are judged and scored by senior members of the institute. Amongst these awards is a category concerned with the publishing of photographic excellence in books – the AIPP Photography Book of the Year Award. In 2008 this was awarded to Peter Adams’ book ‘Who Shot That?’.
